<description>Protect Your Kids From Internet Predators
Back in the day, the rules were simple: Do not talk to strangers. Do not accept rides from strangers or take candy from them. Don't open the door when you're home alone, and in some cases, Don't answer the phone if your parents are not home. Back then, simple meant safe. But with the advancement of technology, it's a whole different ball game. Now, not only do you have to worry about school yard predators, but now, Internet predators. And Internet predators are a little more tricky to recognize and stop. But there are a few tips that can make your child's time online be a lot safer. But you, as a parent, have to enforce these tips and rules.

Protecting Kids From Internet Predators:
Here is what you need to know and do to make the Internet safer for your children. Follow these rules and keep them safe from Internet predators.

Keep the computer in a family room. That way, you have access to it and you can monitor your child's activity.

Talk to your children about the dangers of talking to strangers online. Emphasize that dangerous pedophiles may pose as a child their age to lure them into talking to them.

When making screen names, make sure their screen names don't contain any personal information (name, address, school, birthday, etc.)

Set passwords for everything, and do not give them out to your children.

Make sure you meet all of your child's online friends -- if they happen to make any; talk to them yourself.

When it comes to protecting your child from Internet predators you want to do everything in your power. You don't want your child to end up a statistic. Be a responsible parent and monitor your kids and their activity online.
