	<description>Home safety tips
You may think that you are doing all you need to do to ensure that your home is safe and secure. However, don't allow yourself to get complacent! It is always helpful to remind ourselves of some basic home safety tips from time to time.
We have collected some key home safety tips to remind you of. You may have everything covered, but it doesn't hurt to take a few moments to read the home safety tips our panel of experts had to offer.

Check your electronics regularly: You don't need to call in an electrician for this. With all the electrical devices in our home, it is important to check them regularly to ensure they do not pose any fire risk. As an extra precaution, you could unplug your electric devices when they are not in use.
Install smoke detectors: A fire can happen at any time and you may not be aware of it until it's too late. Fit smoke detectors and check them regularly.
Install carbon monoxide detectors: Carbon monoxide is known as the 'silent killer'. Carbon monoxide fumes are colorless and odorless. The fumes can kill you in minutes, hours, days or even over weeks. Every year we hear of needless and tragic deaths caused by carbon monoxide poisoning. You should obviously have your heating system serviced regularly, but also install a detecting device. This really could save lives.
Fence off your swimming pool: If you are lucky enough to have a pool, keep it secured by erecting a fence to ensure that pets and children don't fall in and drown.
Always drain water out of your bath tubs and sinks: If you have children it is extremely important to follow this safety tip. Many children have drowned in bath tubs and sinks that were left full.

We hope that you have read and understood the importance of our home safety tips. Following basic home safety tips really could save lives in your household and thus need to be taken seriously.
