A word from our expert
You don't need to pay out huge sums of money on making your home as safe as possible. A lot of the advice on our fire safety tip list is common sense and things you can check and see to yourselves. If you have children you need to be especially vigilant. Children and seniors are the two groups most effected by fire in this country. If you have elderly neighbors or family members, check out their homes for them. Space heaters are one of the commonest electrical items that cause fires.
Make sure that you educate your children and family on the dangers of fire and make sure that you have a plan or fire drill that all your family members know about in case of a fire.
